ABIB holds first AGM

Driven by an aspiration to serve as a voice for the Australian bitcoin industry, ABIB reflected on the achievements of their first year and made plans for constructive engagement with government and media in the year ahead.

Last week, the Australian Bitcoin Industry Body (ABIB), held its first annual general meeting since its inception in August, 2021. Attendees recognized achievements of the organization which included:

  • meetings and exchanges with AUSTRAC and with the El Salvador Embassy;
  • the establishment of political and mining branches to study these topics and to develop policy advice; and
  • support for Community Voices, affiliates that can help to highlight important issues for bitcoin-focused communities around Australia.

ABIB is comprised of bitcoin-only Australian companies (members) and individual supporters (sponsors). New members and sponsors are welcomed.
